(She/They)
Douglas is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She specializes in helping adolescents, adult women, and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals who struggle to feel comfortable in their bodies, feel like they’re never good enough, or feel like their own worst critic. She also provides a safe space to explore gender identity or sexual orientation, build confidence, or develop a better relationship with food, their bodies, and themselves.
With a collaborative, trauma-informed approach that’s rooted in the belief that every person deserves to feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood, Douglas draws from evidence-based therapies including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for eating disorders, Internal Family Systems-informed approaches, and Relational Cultural Theory. As an Indigenous therapist, Douglas’ worldview emphasizes that we are all connected–to ourselves, to one another, to our communities, and to the natural world. With a natural warmth, humor, and authenticity, Douglas is skilled at building trust and connection with her clients so that meaningful change can occur. When you begin therapy with Douglas, you will feel like you’re meeting a real person–not just a therapist–and therapy can be a space where you do not have to perform, hide, or have everything figured out. Instead, it can be a place where you feel accepted exactly as you are, while also feeling supported in growing toward the person you want to become.
