At Inside Passage Relationship Counseling, we believe that the quality of our lives is only as good as the strength of our relationships.

Inside Passage Counseling was founded in 2008 by Heather Varnau, LMHC, Certified EFT Couples Therapist and Supervisor, Certified IFS Therapist and IFS Institute Approved IFS Clinical Consultant, and Gottman Method Therapist. We specialize in relationship counseling for individuals and couples using evidence-based and empirically validated therapy methods. 

We are a W-2 employment model and currently have fourteen licensed and associate licensed therapists and three client care coordinators on staff. Inside Passage Relationship Counseling is looking to expand the scope of our practice by hiring additional therapists who gravitate toward attachment-oriented, trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, and relational modalities of therapy for individuals and couples.

We take care of all scheduling and rescheduling of clients so that you can have your ideal schedule.

Billing

We take care of billing and collecting fees so that you don't have to worry about invoices and accounts payable.

Whether it's a part-time or full-time case load you desire, we take care of marketing and promoting your services.

Intake & Documentation

We will send out and collect all of your intake forms so that you have what you need prior to meeting with clients. All you have to do is document your sessions in an easy to use electronic platform.

HIPAA Compliance

We provide a fully HIPAA compliant telehealth platform, phone number, and email.

Administrative Support

We'll make sure your clients have excellent customer service by handling all non-clinical client communication throughout the entire client journey, from start to finish.

Clinical Consultation and Supervision

We offer opportunities for clinical consultation in a number of modalities, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), EMDR, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and mindfulness-based psychotherapy.

Ongoing Trainings

We offer ongoing training through our signature Inside Passage Couples Therapy Training Program: Integrative Experiential Couples Therapy, as well as opportunities for training in other modalities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Fully licensed or associate licensed in WA State
  • License is in good standing with no complaints filed
  • Excellent references
  • Able to see clients in-person at our beautiful Bellingham offices. Optional telehealth sessions are available
  • Willing to see 20 clients per week
  • Embody the therapeutic relationship skills that foster a strong working alliance between therapist and client, such as warmth, connectivity, consistency, appropriate boundaries, and congruent communication

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting pay for therapists is $64,064 - $114,400 annual income for seeing 20 or more clients per week

In addition to providing high-quality therapy services, Inside Passage Relationship Counseling is a hub in the North Puget Sound area for therapists and clinicians to receive high-quality training and supervision in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Integrative Experiential Couples Therapy, and Intensive/Marathon Couples Therapy.
