Dr. Suzanne Strizik is a licensed psychologist with over 30 years of clinical experience. She is dedicated to the skillful navigation of life’s challenges and obstacles to well-being. Dr. Strisik takes into account the effect of intergenerational family dynamics and social and cultural influences on one’s happiness. She respects the importance of life meaning and happiness–those moments of congruence between who one wants to be in the world and how one chooses to act. Her therapeutic orientation is humanistic, cognitive-behavioral, systemic, and values-oriented. As a retired professor of psychology she has published and presented on culturally responsive therapy, family systems, anxiety management, seasonal affective disorder, and depression. Dr. Strisik works according to the following models: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Functional Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (FACT), which is a brief (one to three session) therapy; Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS). Her approach is characterized by warmth, empathy, and a skillful commitment to helping clients navigate life’s challenges.
