Long-term committed relationships aren’t always easy. They take time and nurturing, and they will, inevitably, carry a variety of challenges. After being married for 25 years, earning a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and now gaining a license as a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate, I know what it takes to move you through struggles like infertility, infidelity, parenthood, aging parents and more. I also know that those struggles can either break a relationship or bring you closer together

I receive ongoing training and supervision from Laura Gambrel, PhD, LMHC and utilize Integrative Experiential Couples Therapy (IECT) and Gottman Method Couples Therapy in my work with couples. I bring a skillful presence to the room, creating a container for you and your partner to hear each other out, understand where you are both coming from and find your way back to each other

I am both fair and empathetic and believe that, by helping my clients recognize their primary emotions and live in alignment with their values and needs, they will find peace both in themselves and in their relationships.

Couples and Adult Individuals

Specializes in:

Emotional Intimacy, Intergenerational Patterns, Infidelity

Relationship struggles, and everything that comes with them, can leave you feeling lost, numb, and untethered from both yourself and your partner. And regardless of how self-aware you might be or how much insight you’ve managed to gather, it isn’t always enough to create the deep, lasting change you long for.

That’s why I specialize in guiding couples and individuals beyond insight and into lasting transformative change, so that you can feel more grounded and connected to your authentic self and finally embody the life you were born to live. Throughout this process I will honor your context and cultural background, because I believe these aspects of your identity and experience are often central to healing. Therefore, I also practice from an anti-racist framework and provide LGBTQIA+ affirming care.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in both Washington state and North Carolina with a Master’s in Contemplative Psychotherapy, a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy and over 20 years of meditation experience, I am passionate about helping my clients connect with the wisdom of their own bodies, gaining insight into systemic and cultural patterns that have impacted who they are and how they perceive the world, cultivating kindness and compassion for them self and others, and learning tangible, concrete tools for sustainable change.

Taking a holistic approach to wellness, I pull from my vast experience in Mindfulness, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy and PREPARE/ENRICH, tailoring each session to the needs of my clients.

My deepest hope is that you might leave our sessions realizing the healing power of your attention and acceptance, and that you might give yourself permission to slow down, to really feel your feelings so that you might become less reactive and go on to lead a richer, deeper, more joyful life.

Diverse Partnerships like non-monogamous configurations

When the most important relationships in your life feel unsettled, it’s easy for depression and anxiety to set in. It can be hard to find balance without a well-rounded system of support. That is what I help my clients cultivate. Through supporting relational wellness, helping to establish balance, and cultivating individual and interpersonal coping skills, my clients will take steps toward growth, healing and change.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate in Washington State, with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and under continued training and supervision by Laura Gambrel, PhD, LMHC in Integrative Experiential Couples Therapy, I believe therapy is a co-creational process. Cultivating a trusting therapeutic relationship with each of my clients, I work to meet them where they are. Combining intuition, art, and evidence-based approaches, and drawing on my own experiences as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I tailor treatment to each couple.

My approach to therapy is both curious and sensitive, inviting an inclusive mindset and an openness to diverse partnerships like non-monogamous configurations. Generally non-directive, I will ask questions that guide clients toward self-reflection so they can gain a better understanding of themselves and their partners. My deepest hope is that you leave our sessions feeling gentler with yourself and your partner and that you develop more self-confidence that helps you achieve things you never thought you were capable of.

Chronic Pain Reprocessing, Trauma, Parenting Support

Living with chronic physical or emotional pain can be excruciating. It can make even the easiest tasks feel difficult, and it can end up affecting nearly every area of your life.

I know. I’ve been there. And I found the exit.

After more than 20 years of post-graduate experience in the counseling field, I believe that when we combine non-judgemental, loving awareness with forgiveness, we are able to recognize and redefine narratives that are keeping us stuck in a cycle of struggle. And when we do so, when we accept and empower ourselves with new storylines, we have the capacity to rewire our brains and reset our nervous systems.

Using clinically effective methods like Trauma Release Therapy and Pain Reprocessing Therapy, I can guide you through the painful, difficult places of your mind and body and into a deep, internalized sense of connection to yourself.

I also work with parents who want to support their children with emotional regulation, self-soothing techniques, and attachment using Hand in Hand Parenting.

Self-esteem, trauma resolution

Whether we realize it or not, our past experiences, and how we’ve learned to cope with them, shape many of our daily behaviors and habits. We cannot change what has happened to us, but I believe that each person has the strength and personal insight to address and heal wounds from the past, foster future goals, and to live more powerfully in the present.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in Washington state, I help adults and adolescents gain self-esteem and find direction in their lives. Whether it is working through past trauma, recovering from unhealthy relationships, or simply finding their purpose in life, I help my clients gain the tools they need to both self-seek and self-soothe when trying times arise.

Using an integrative approach, I understand that therapy is never a one-size-fits-all experience and am able to tailor my approach as needed. Combining evidence-based, relational methods including trauma-informed strategies such as EMDR and Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), I will compassionately guide you to fully understand the story, values, goals, and relationships that are most important to you and help you achieve the resolution, peace and empowerment you are looking for.

As a Licensed Social Worker Associate in the State of Washington with professional experience as a nurse, I believe in the mind-body connection and that mental health is connected to our physical health. I provide therapy with compassion and a holistic perspective that honors the uniqueness, dignity, and worth of each client.

My clients feel safe and heard in sharing their problems, and I have experience providing therapy for clients experiencing PTSD, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, identity issues, domestic violence, chronic pain reprocessing, and substance use. I have recently completed EMDR training to address clients’ acute or chronic experiences of trauma and have extensive knowledge of evidence-based models and interventions to address the issues I treat.

After our work together, my deepest hope is that clients will feel more empowered in their ability to navigate life’s emotional and relational challenges and recover from mental health problems. Most importantly, clients will learn how to recognize and address their mental health symptoms with techniques that are effective and enhance their self-compassion.

Works with:

Couples, Adult Individuals, Teens, Families

Specializes in:

Complex Trauma Therapy, Couples Therapy, and Family Therapy

During times of conflict and emotional pain, it can be difficult to see and believe in your own worth. Thinking that you are not enough, or too much, is far more common than you might imagine and these sorts of beliefs can leave us feeling disconnected from our own needs, from how to communicate those needs and how to get those needs met.

That’s why I specialize in guiding adults, couples and teens in navigating difficult emotions and life-events, specifically when related to complex trauma and PTSD, relationship issues, divorce and co-parenting, and blended families. With more than 20 years of experience, I believe that how we move through life is largely shaped by the experiences we’ve had. By providing my clients with a safe, stable, supportive environment to see how those experiences influence their current struggles, I help guide them toward new perspectives, stimulating a greater sense of self-worth and connection.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and EMDR, I pull from my extremely diverse set of experiences of working with trauma, both past and recent, depression, attachment, communication and life transitions.

In working together to acknowledge and validate each of your life-events, I vow to honor your intrinsic value, validate your experiences, and guide you toward new experiences and perspectives that point to a life of meaning and joy.
