Your Healing Starts HERE.

Living with trauma isn’t just about what happened in the past—it’s about how it still lingers in your present. It can show up as restless nights, sudden waves of fear, or feeling disconnected from yourself and those around you. Maybe certain places, sounds, or memories trigger emotions that feel too big to handle, leaving you stuck in a cycle of anxiety, numbness, or self-protection.

If this resonates with you, you’re not alone. And more importantly, you don’t have to navigate this alone.

Healing from trauma is possible. With the right support, you can process what you’ve been through, regain a sense of safety in your own body, and move forward without the past defining your future.

At Inside Passage Counseling, we provide a safe, compassionate space where you can release the weight of old wounds, rebuild trust in yourself, and create a life that feels whole again.

"After years of struggling with memories I couldn’t escape, I finally decided to try trauma therapy. It wasn’t easy at first, but my therapist created a safe, supportive space where I could finally confront what I’d been avoiding for so long. Through our sessions, I learned techniques to calm my mind, process my emotions, and move past the pain. Now, I feel lighter, more in control, and ready to embrace life again. I didn’t think healing was possible, but trauma therapy showed me it is."

Trauma refers to the emotional response to a distressing event, while PTSD is a mental health condition that can develop after exposure to such events, characterized by symptoms like flashbacks, nightmares, and severe anxiety.

Trauma therapies aim to help individuals process and make meaning of their traumatic experiences, develop coping strategies, and integrate these experiences into their lives, promoting healing and resilience.

At Inside Passage Counseling, many of our counselors are trained in EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and/or IFS (Internal Family Systems), which are two different types of trauma therapy. Both are highly effective, though they approach trauma treatment from different perspectives.

While discussing your trauma may be part of therapy, many approaches focus on managing reactions and understanding the impact, rather than re-living the traumatic event in detail.
